Boudh is the district seat of Boudh District, Orissa. It is located on the bank of Mahanadi, the largest river of the state of Orissa

It is separated from Kandhamal and become a new district in recent times.It is at a distance of 70 Kms from Kandhamal. Boudh district is touched by the rivers Mahanadi and Rushikulya. An image of Lord Budha known as 'Bhumisamudra' is situated here.
