Muga Dali with Palang Saaga

Sajana Saga with Gota Muga

      

Ingredients

1/2 cup moong dal (available in Indian grocery store),
1 cup water,
1/2 onion diced,
1/2 tomato diced,
Turmeric and a pinch of salt
Palang Saaga (Palak) - 1 cup shredded
Oil - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1tsp
Green chilly - 1 diced

Method

Boil dal, tomato, salt, turmeric powder and palak.
Heat oil.
Add Cumin Seeds, mustard seeds, green chilly and onions in a separate frying pan.
Fry for 2-3 minutes.
Add another 1 cup of water to the cooker and let it boil for 5 minutes.

 


 

Ingredients

Sajana Saga (Drumstick leaves) 1 bunch
Whole green grams( Gota muga) 1 cup
Half cup cut kakharu(pumpkins).
3 cloves garlic,
2 red chilly and mustard seeds for seasoning.
Turmeric and salt -according to taste

Method

Fry the green grams in a frying pan.
Boil it with salt and turmeric.
Separate the drumstick leaves from the stems.
Heat 2 spoons of oil in a frying pan.
Add mustard seeds when they splutter.
Add crushed garlic and red chilly and fry.
Add the leaves and cut pumpkins to it and cook it covered till leaves are tender.
Sprinkle some water so that leaves do not stick to the frying pan.
Add boiled dal to this.
Serve it with rice.
